I was very excited when I heard this was coming out, I was a huge fan as a kid. Even went opening night. But I must say it just wasn’t the same without Robert Englund. Also I realized it struck a much more different nerve this time. As a kid you were afraid to go to bed, now being an adult with a preschool child, I’m afraid to send my kid to school . It was definitely a lot darker, and the story line seemed very rushed to me. So I have to say if you are an old school Freddy fan, don’t go see this it will be a disappointment.

So I ask Kayla today what she wants to be when she grows up…
” I’m going to be taller mommy and drink coffee.”
After reading a very interesting article on Care 2 Health I proceeded to try and investigate Yankee Candles. On their site they refer to their wicks being only cotton(not lead), and also the use of essential oils. However nothing states the type of wax used.
I sent an email to them:
Hello,
I tried to find info on the actual ingredients of your candles, and came up short on the actual candle wax itself. I do know you use the cotton wicks, and that you use essential oils etc, but what type of actual wax is used for the candles. (ie, the buttercream, vineyard, honeysuckel, watermelon, etc)
Thank you for your time,
~K~
The response:
Dear K,
Thank you for your inquiry. Because of the sensitive nature of the contents of the candles, we can only process requests for ingredients regarding allergies. In that case, we would request written documentation from your physician/allergist regarding the inquiry.
Please forward written correspondence to Yankee Candle Co., Customer Service, PO Box 110, South Deerfield, MA 01373.

So I must say that doesn’t leave me feeling to good about using their candles now, with my trying to make my house healthy & green. What about you?
A young 37-foot whale was found stranded in W Seattle, and according to Cascadia Research Collective, 50 gallons of stomach contents were sorted through. Most of it was real food – algae and other bits common to a gray whale diet – but also included were more than 20 plastic bags, small towels, surgical gloves, sweat pants, plastic pieces, duct tape, and a golf ball.
Seriously?? The world doesn’t owe you a thing, so stop walking around with that chip on your shoulder thinking it does. You however owe everything to the world, so clean up after yourself and get off your high horse and start giving back!
Quote i just read from writer Henry Miller: “In this age, which believes that there is a shortcut to everything, the greatest lesson to be learned is that the most difficult way is, in the long run, the easiest.”
How true when you think about it. I’m always trying to find the quickest way to lose that 5 pounds, or the quickest way to get stuff done to the house. How about you, what do you try to find the shortcut to? Did it work?
