We are on our way to take a look at a new vehicle for daddy, Kayla couldn’t be more happy. It happens to be a pickup truck. So happy in fact that she advised me: “remember mommy, I gonna drive the hiccup truck all the way to school for you mommy.”

Ok, so if you read my bio, you know I have 4 cats, what you may not know however, is that I am also a major clean freak with allergies. I also go thru vacuums like water, and since my one cat has been ill recently I have slightly injured my carpet cleaner. So I was beyond ecstatic when I made friends with my new Euro-Pro Shark Navigator Bagless Vacuum which is purple, YAY! (I swear it had nothing to do with the decision process, it was just a bonus hehe), and my Bissell SpotBot Pet Carpet Cleaner.
I was completely skeptical of both items, but since they both had such good reviews on them I figured OK give it a try. The first thing that shocked me was how lightweight the Shark Vacuum was. I haven’t had a vacuum that weighed so little unless you count the Dustbuster I used to have, and the SpotBot carpet cleaner that cleans all by itself?? Both of them together coming in way under the $500 Dyson pricetag? Just couldn’t be true…
Well it was! They are the two best cleaning appliances I have EVER bought and I LOVE them!!!!
Yankee Candle and Carcinogenic Wax?
May 4th, 2010, posted in Uncategorized
After reading a very interesting article on Care 2 Health I proceeded to try and investigate Yankee Candles. On their site they refer to their wicks being only cotton(not lead), and also the use of essential oils. However nothing states the type of wax used.
I sent an email to them:
Hello,
I tried to find info on the actual ingredients of your candles, and came up short on the actual candle wax itself. I do know you use the cotton wicks, and that you use essential oils etc, but what type of actual wax is used for the candles. (ie, the buttercream, vineyard, honeysuckel, watermelon, etc)
Thank you for your time,
~K~
The response:
Dear K,
Thank you for your inquiry. Because of the sensitive nature of the contents of the candles, we can only process requests for ingredients regarding allergies. In that case, we would request written documentation from your physician/allergist regarding the inquiry.
Please forward written correspondence to Yankee Candle Co., Customer Service, PO Box 110, South Deerfield, MA 01373.

So I must say that doesn’t leave me feeling to good about using their candles now, with my trying to make my house healthy & green. What about you?
WAKE UP WORLD!
May 3rd, 2010, posted in UncategorizedA young 37-foot whale was found stranded in W Seattle, and according to Cascadia Research Collective, 50 gallons of stomach contents were sorted through. Most of it was real food – algae and other bits common to a gray whale diet – but also included were more than 20 plastic bags, small towels, surgical gloves, sweat pants, plastic pieces, duct tape, and a golf ball.
Seriously?? The world doesn’t owe you a thing, so stop walking around with that chip on your shoulder thinking it does. You however owe everything to the world, so clean up after yourself and get off your high horse and start giving back!
Sarah Palin is OUT! Thank God!

Apparently Sarah Palin blasted Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund’s efforts to save wolves in her resignation speech. I kept signing all those petitions from Defenders of Wildlife, to stop the aerial wolf-killing she so condoned. I can’t believe a “woman” could be so heartless and push so hard to kill a living creature let alone one that is so close to extinction.
Today, Congressman George Miller (CA) will re-introduce the Protect America’s Wildlife (PAW) Act — federal legislation to end Alaska’s barbaric aerial wolf-killing programs and prevent the slaughter from spreading to other states. And, for the first time ever, the bill will also be introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senator Dianne Feinstein (CA), joined by Senator Ben Cardin (MD) and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (RI).
So all I have to say is Good Bye and GOOD Riddance Sarah!
Happiest City For Families
July 28th, 2009, posted in UncategorizedI didn’t think there was actually such a thing, but apparently Mcdonald’s ran a contest and Minneapolis, Minn. was found to be the Happiest City for Families http://mcdepk.com/happymeal/ . The contest is apparently being held in celebration of the Happy Meal turning 30. OMG 30 years old…I feel sooo old
