Are Your Cosmetics Safe?
I found this awesome website quite a while back now from the EWG (Environmental Working Group) called the Cosmetic Database. It’s very useful for finding the products that have the most harmful chemicals in it. I mean with names like Dimethicone, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Butylene Glycol, Isostearic Acid, Isocetyl Stearate, Nylon 12, Glycerin, and Phenyl Trimethicone, how are you supposed to know what is a toxin or just a fancy word for a plant extract?
They take products run tests and give items a score.

I have found it rather effective and disappointing at times. I say disappointed because items I thought were ok scored pretty high hazard. Bare Minerals and E.L.F. for example, scored fairly high in some of their products.
So before you buy your next foundation, lipstick, lotion, eye shadow check out the database and find out whether its really worth it.
